Disturbed by the circumstances and fueled by grief, she discovers her estranged mother, Radhika, may be connected to this tragedy.
When Meghna reads her father’s diary, she learns about the betrayal and emotional scars that tore her family apart. She moves into her mother’s mansion with the hidden intent of revenge. There, she uses an ancient ritual to summon her father’s spirit, believing his ghost will help her punish those responsible.
However, things spiral out of control. As the mansion becomes a haunted battleground, Meghna realizes her father was not a victim—but a manipulative abuser. Arjun, her boyfriend, is revealed to be a dark sorcerer named Rahasur, working to feed her anger and resurrect evil.
Performances
-
Avika Gor, known for her television career, transitions impressively into cinema with a powerful lead performance. She conveys emotional pain and supernatural obsession with equal intensity.
-
Barkha Bisht plays a layered character as Radhika, a mother with a buried past. Her portrayal adds emotional depth to the story.
-
Rahul Dev and Danish Pandor receive mixed reviews. While Dev has a strong presence, his performance feels underutilized. Pandor’s role turns sinister as the story unfolds but lacks conviction in certain scenes.
Final Verdict
1920: Horrors of the Heart is not your typical horror film filled with endless screams and gore. It’s a story of pain, love, betrayal, and healing—wrapped in a ghostly narrative. While it doesn’t achieve peak horror brilliance, it adds something different to the Indian horror landscape by focusing on the psychological and emotional journey of its characters.
